....I'd be SURE to join the Gulf South LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce 2023 Pride Build Team! And now YOU can too!
Each year your chamber works to support a community project that represents our community spirit and our mission of ensuring the pursuit of happiness for all, with the same opportunity for access and success for all. Past projects have funded a scholarship for LGBT people through PFLAG New Orleans.
For 2023, the Board has chosen to sponsor a Pride Build team for one day in June, to support work on another value we all need and deserve--safe, affordable housing.
Working in concert with the amazing people at Habitat for Humanity, we are seeking fifteen Chamber members and guests who are willing to contribute $100 and a day of labor as service on our Pride Build team.
Our build will be on Saturday, June 23, 2023. Times and location to be determined in May. our team is open to the first 15 entrants who register.
The Chamber will match the $1500 contributed by our participants with another $2500 raised from proceeds at our upcoming raffle events and through other events.
Our combined impact will be $3500 plus a day's labor from 15 very sweaty and fulfilled volunteers on our team.
Habitat for Humanity is an endearing and valued community partner, whose mission of providing affordable housing for all includes service to our LGBTQ+ community, including our own local House of Tulip and its critical mission of service to unhoused trans people of color.
We invite you to help the Chamber support Habitat for Humanity's important Pride Month Builds, whether with a donation made through the Chamber, a day of work or both.
